Lunchtime Assistant – SEN – Immediate start

Premier Education is working with an SEN provision in the Stockport area who are looking to recruit 3 lunchtime assistants to support their pupils, alongside the teachers, during the lunchtime session at the school starting immediately.

The students at the provision all have ASD so experience working with young people with complex needs would be advantageous.

This is a great opportunity for a lunchtime supervisor or teaching assistant who wants to start or continue their career in Education and is motivated to inspire learning for children with varied and complex needs. Your work will be challenging and rewarding in equal measure and you will be working in a school where we maintain a strong safeguarding culture, where pupils are listened to, respected and involved in as many decisions as possible.

Main duties will include:

• Supporting teaching staff with serving and helping with lunches
• Providing personal care if required
• Ensuring pupils are safe and supported during non contact lesson time.

The ideal candidate will:

• Be resilient, experienced and committed to working with challenging behaviour
• Be sensitive to the needs and backgrounds of children with ASD
• Have passion and dedication to the developmental goals of vulnerable young people
• Be available immediately for long term work on a full time basis
• HOLD A CHILD WORKFORCE DBS OR BE WILLING TO APPLY FOR ONE
• Be able to provide a minimum of 2 references to cover the last 2 years employment history
