Preston & Blythe Looking for Log Truck Driver at Blenheim, Marlborough, New Zealand Full Time
About The Client Our client is a family owned and operated company that has been providing transport solutions and firewood to the Marlborough region and beyond since 1983. The company operates out of a purpose-built facility at Riverlands Industrial Estate, Blenheim and has grown from the modest beginnings of owing one Truck to the current modern fleet of over 50 vehicles.
About The Role
Operating a class 5 vehicle in a safe and legal manner and completing three loads per day.
- Collection of logs from skid sites and delivery to customer sites including timber mills and ports.
- Following correct radio procedures.
- Writing waybills and manifests.
- Report immediately any actual or potential unsafe condition, activity, dangerous occurrence or injury in the
workplace. You must work in a manner that does not endanger yourself or any other person.
- Use the required PPE issued by the company in accordance with instructions in relation to use.
- Do not attempted tasks unless you are trained, qualified and competent to do so.
- Follow all Forests Code of Practices, safety instructions and regulations.
- Adhere to all company policies, including: Environmental, safe driving, Fatigue Management, Maintenance,
smoking and vaping, Health monitoring, Bullying, harassment and discrimination, workplace stress, mental
health, drug and alcohol and training.
About You
- Class 5 license is required.
- Required to hold unit standards 22994 and 17769 or the NZ Certificate in Commercial Road Transport Level 4
- transportation of logs which is preferred.
- Assessed at a minimum of Bronze level on the LTSC pathway after 12 months of employment.
- Port inductions
- Forest site inductions
- Wheels endorsement, not essential but preferred
- Loader forestry modules, not essential but preferred
- First Aid certificate
