Principal Financial Group Hiring for Technical Communication Developer (Digital Communications) at Des Moines Full Time

Responsibilities

Principal Financial Group is seeking a talented Technical Communication Developer to work with business partners to support outgoing communication and enforce company brand standards. If you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and building relationships throughout a large organization then this is the job for you!

Here are some examples of the things you will do:

• Create new and maintain existing content in various formats for business areas transforming business requirements into various electronic or document outputs in a variety of formats that may include PDFs, web pages, email.

• Prepare and execute technical development using the most effective document composition software. Develop document and electronic content in the most accurate, efficient, and cost-effective manner while meeting deadline and business requestor expectations.

• Provide direct and timely communication using appropriate vehicles. Develop all physical and digital colleterial to support the corporate brand while also using the corporate technical design standards. Create prototypes, participate in system and usability testing.

• Serve as a subject matter expert and representative on small/medium project efforts related to composition which may include documents, web pages, design. This will involve consulting with the client on technical options/tools to be used for the creation of the output.

• Maintain awareness and develop knowledge of latest developments and trends in document and electronic composition, with particular focus on design techniques and technical best practices. Troubleshoot technical and publishing issues.

Qualifications

• Associate degree

• 5 years work related experience required

• Previous experience with document composition tools such as Adobe Pro, Word, Open Text Extreme, Adobe Experience Manager, or Adobe Sign

• Basic design skills using Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Life Cycle, and HP Exstream, as well as MS Office Suite

• Analytical and conditional logic skills

• Working knowledge of PDF and Postscript print streams

• Ability to express complex technical concepts effectively, both verbal and in writing, is critical

• Ability to work well with people from many different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience

• Must be business and customer service focused, a change agent, a problem solver, and a strong planner

Salary Range Information

Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.

Salary Range

$41700 – $96000 / year
