Web Content Specialist
Prometheus Federal Services (PFS) is seeking a Web Content Specialist (WCS) to support a Department of Defense (DoD) client in the Washington, DC Metro Area (i.e., the DMV). The WCS will work closely with content subject matter experts to help in developing copy for artifacts such as blog posts, flyers, poster presentations, etc.; producing graphics for various artifacts; preparing content for posting to websites; and working with content subject matter experts to prepare occasional social media content.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide graphic services and design expertise such as (but not limited to) creating graphic design, artwork and documentation layout; and augmenting existing documents with value-added visuals, including on-line, interactive documents.
Support the processes of editing and review of written and graphic content and design/layout of products and information intended for public release.
Support the development of communication products to inform and educate external audiences about the client’s services. This could include supporting product
development such as news releases, website content, videos, TV and radio PSAs, speeches, briefings and talking points, newsletters, brochures, branding materials, and social media content,
Apply creativity and resourcefulness and the regular use of independent judgment when interfacing with customers and staff.
Participate in digital projects/artifacts delivered by, and in partnership with, content subject matter experts, Government IT, change management, and information assurance and security support resources.
Consult with customers to identify and specify project requirements.
Support content development for digital projects
Define digital project scope and objectives
Lead and manage digital content form, functionality, accessibility, and usability.
Ensure content management optimization for Section 508 compliance
Prepare materials in a variety of formats including text, graphic, photo, rich media, audio, video, streaming, and interactive presentations and other types of digital media.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Graphic Arts, Digital Design or related programs of study.
At least 3 – 4 years of directly relevant, similar professional experience
Ability to write and produce in very direct, succinct artifacts that are free of grammatical errors.
Experience with graphics programs such as Adobe PhotoShop
Strong experience with MS Office suite.
Prior experience with content management systems such as Sitecore.
Previous experience managing social media posts on platforms to include Facebook and Twitter
Ability to obtain a clearance if needed.
Able to work in the US indefinitely without sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Communications, Graphic Arts, Digital Design or related programs of study.
Previous experience supporting content management and communications efforts within a DoD setting.
