Your Mission

You’ll join our Core Applications team who focus on developing high performance shared applications and tools that enable our entire engineering team to deliver great work in addition to building out applications and services that are used by our customers on a daily basis. You’ll also be taking ownership of large scale, cross functional projects which make a significant impact on our customer facing products. In addition to this, you will build out tools and libraries which will improve the scalability and developer experience of our platforms.

Being in the Core Applications team, you’ll also have the opportunity to assist in architectural decisions across our engineering platform. You will use your systems thinking skills to ensure that these decisions are scalable and efficient as our product continues to evolve. This role is very cross cutting in nature and will allow you the opportunity to work on projects across multiple teams and products creating a wide impact on everything engineering at Propeller.

About you

• You’re excited to work on high leverage core applications that are all impactful across multiple teams.
• You’re an experienced Software Engineer that is interested in taking ownership of projects and learning new technologies.
• You value good developer experience and want to contribute to building this up at Propeller.
• You’re a natural communicator and enjoy managing projects in a cross collaborative manner.

Your skills

• You’ve got 2+ years experience working in React, NodeJS with knowledge of Typescript.
• You are comfortable working in both the backend and frontend
• You’re exposed to cloud computing and in particular you’re comfortable with AWS.
• You have experience building systems and libraries that are designed to be consumed by developers and are optimised for developer experience.
• You are a systems thinker with experience building highly dependable services.

Bonus Points for

• Experience working with Python, including the Django and Flask frameworks.
• Experience working with the NestJS framework
• Experience working with Terraform
• You’ve got professional experience in a DevOps and infrastructure role.
