PSEG Long Island Cyber Security area is seeking Technical Intern. This position is currently performed remotely with the opportunity to work on site at the Bethpage location as business needs warrants..
Cyber Security, Risk and Compliance is seeking intern to help with information security tasks, such as responding to security alerts, incident tickets, documenting processes, and working various security analysis projects. Candidate will interact with other members of Cyber Security team, as well as different IT teams from network and application areas, and PSEG Long Island clients. Candidate will be exposed to many types of systems and will learn about various aspects of security.
The successful candidate will:
Work in Cyber Security systems to assess and respond to real threats to our end user machines, servers, and applications.
Work in a team environment with a focus on learning new skills and continuously improving the way we do things.
Work collaboratively with our team to monitor security alerts, analyze and communicate the impact of new security vulnerabilities
Provide metrics and report on security statistics
Attend meetings and represent the CSRC team for Lunch & Learns or other user security trainings as required.
Required Education/Skills: The successful candidate (s) must be actively pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in Cyber Security, Information Technology, Information Management Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering and Network Engineering. Candidates must have completed sophomore level course work for consideration. PSEG recognizes institutions of higher education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent.

All PSEG internship roles are paid at an hourly rate, however there are no benefits associated with these positions. Candidates are expected to work at least 12 hours a week during the semester and available to work up to 40 hours per week during breaks and the summer period for the full 10-12 week period.
As an employee of PSE&G or PSEG Long Island, you should be aware that during storm restoration efforts, you may be required to perform functions outside of your routine duties and on a schedule that may be different from normal operations.
