CareOnSite, a division of Tang & Company which provides occupational medical services nationwide, has excellent temporary opportunities for a data entry clerk.

Essential Functions

Keeps track of received data and source documents.
Prepares and sorts source documents, and identifies and interprets data to be entered.
Contacts originators of source documents to resolve questions, inconsistencies, or missing data.
Enters alphabetic, numeric, or symbolic data from source documents into computer following format displayed on screen, and enters necessary codes.
Makes necessary corrections to information entered.
Compiles, sorts, and verifies accuracy of data to be entered.
Keeps record of work completed.
Reviews error reports and enters corrections into computer.
Transmits entered information into database.
Files or routes source documents after entry.
Provides routine office support such as making copies, faxing, answering phones, prepares correspondence for mailing, and delivering and picking up correspondence.

Qualifications

Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures.
Knowledge of modern office equipment and use.
Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, computer hardware and software operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively.
Ability to demonstrate a pleasant telephone voice.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to use a computer. Good knowledge of PC operations and software (Word processing and spreadsheet) are required.
Excellent typing skills are also required.
