Responsibilities
We are seeking a motivated and proficient Training Operations Manager to help lead large, multi-year training initiatives for our clients. The ideal candidate will be a skilled project manager that is able to effectively and efficiently manage the day-to-day operations of a training project and serve as the main point-of-contact with our clients. The Training Operations Manager will oversee and support the work of project staff—including curriculum developers, trainers, coordinators, and data analysts—to effectively deliver the project for our clients. This position requires a high level of organization and responsiveness to the needs of our clients. Experience with government agencies and/or human services organizations is preferred but not essential.
Specific Responsibilities:
Serve in a client-facing role, leading the operations of large statewide training initiatives to achieve client goals
Manage the operation of a training initiative from end-to-end including:
Oversee curriculum development by skilled training content developers
Schedule training sessions (in-person and virtual) and manage trainer schedules
Recruit trainees
Register trainees via online registration tools
Oversee the successful delivery of training by skilled training staff
Deliver pre- and post-session communications to training participants
Report on the results of training and learning events to PCG clients
Oversee training project teams—including curriculum developers, trainers, coordinators, and data analysts—to successfully deliver training activities and meet project objectives
Provide ongoing performance management for staff on project teams, including coaching and feedback on effectiveness
Manage relationships with PCG sub-contractors that support the delivery of training projects
Assist in creation and maintenance of staffing plans and budgets for training projects
Create and implement training recruitment plans and strategies, to ensure appropriate levels of attendance at training and learning events
Produce polished reports for clients on the outcomes of training project activities
Qualifications
Required Skills:
Leadership ability – Confident and commands respect and trust among colleagues and clients
Excellent project management skills
Knowledge of commonly used training concepts, practices and procedures
Experience scheduling and managing the logistics of a high volume of events – preferably training or learning-focused events
Ability to leverage the experience of colleagues with other functional or subject matter expertise to meet the needs of a project
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills; including organized and responsive communication
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Detail-oriented and able to plan training schedules and logistics
Effective problem-solving ability, including the ability to maintain a solution-oriented mindset when dealing with unexpected barriers or challenges
Understanding of and experience with effective project budgeting
Knowledge of MS Windows, Excel and Word
Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of health and human services industries, preferably in the Medicaid, aging and disability services, or vocational rehabilitation services spaces
Understanding of person-centered thinking, practice, and planning
Proficient in Microsoft applications, including SharePoint and Teams
Proficiency in Zoom and comfortability with using video conferencing platforms
Experience with or ability to quickly learn how to use online event management tools
Ability to create marketing communications materials
Experience:
Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience
5+ years training, project management, or related experience
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (preferred)
Knowledge or experience with health and human services organizations and/or government agencies, particularly human services programs (preferred)
