Description:

The Point-of-Sale development team is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to design and develop systems for the modernization effort.

In this position you will work with a cross-functional team, focused on collaboration, innovative designs, and delivering high-quality solutions to support Publix’s goal of being the premier quality food retailer in the world.

Responsibilities include:

• Building an in-depth knowledge of how Publix operates and the needs of the business areas we support

• Assisting in defining the architecture being used for the point-of-sale

• Designing and developing enterprise level information systems using modern technology and techniques

• Evaluating modern technology and helping to determine how it fits within our evolving solutions

• Mentoring and coaching up-and-coming software engineers

As a year-end bonus to associates, Publix issues one month’s extra pay (pro-rated in the first year) each year if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check that year. This is calculated as a 13th month of pay in the Potential Annual Pay with Bonus line above.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or other analytical discipline or equivalent experience

• Minimum of seven years’ experience

• designing, developing, and delivering enterprise level applications

• analyzing and translating complex business requirements into technology solutions that factor in system performance, usability, quality, cross-system interdependencies, scalability, and total cost of ownership

• developing and supporting enterprise applications using .NET Core/.NET 6.0

• leveraging appropriate design patterns and SOLID development principles

• Minimum of three years’ experience developing and supporting enterprise applications using .NET Core/.NET 6.0

Preferred Qualifications:

• Five of more years’ experience developing and supporting enterprise applications using .NET Core/.NET 6.0

• Nine or more years’ experience in all other required qualifications above in addition to experience with:

• retail concepts and related software

• developing applications in an agile framework such as scrum or extreme programming

• Advanced knowledge of

• Angular

• Azure DevOps

• Kubernetes

• Kafka

• Test Driven Development (TDD)
