Purdue University Fort Wayne is seeking an Online Program Assistant for the Division of Continuing Studies.

The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?

• The Online Program Assistant plays an integral part in the recruiting and retention of online undergraduate and graduate students at the university.
• Provide administrative support to director and administrator.
• Assist with on-campus, off-campus, and virtual recruitment events and efforts for online undergraduate and graduate programs; to include monitoring Slate interactions, making contact with prospective students and applicants via email, phone, and text, assisting with mailings, recruitment fairs and other events.
• Use Banner system to input course information for online courses and cognos to pull reports as needed.
• Serve as front line contact to direct callers and visitors.
• Monitor PFW Online email, system online mail and respond accordingly in a timely manner.
• Serve as back-up to Graduate Studies email.
• Provide information needed, answer questions, and resolve problems as needed.
• Identify online students in Banner to create contact lists needed in order to communicate important information related to online study.
• Manage PFW Online social media, posting regular content and addressing questions or concerns that may arise.

What are the position essentials required as an Assistant?

• High School Diploma/GED.
• Two years of customer service experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Excellent customer-service skills with strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be organized and detail-oriented.
• Familiarity with social media including Facebook.

What are the additional preferred requirements of an Assistant?

• Office setting experience.
• Ability to run Cognos queries.
