Terms of Employment: In accordance with the agreement between the Quaker Valley School District and the QVESPA Unit 2.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Carryout those duties as specified in the daily duty list as provided by Buildings and Grounds Supervisor(s)
Confer/take direction from head custodian regarding any adjustments or alterations in the daily duty list.
Perform other duties whether within another class of responsibility or otherwise, which may be assigned occasionally in the interest of efficient and economical operations of the school district.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Evidences the ability to communicate effectively with staff, parents, students and community.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma or equivalent
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, two and three syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between a series of numbers. Ability to write and speak in simple sentences.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to solve basic problems using basic operations of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Ability to perform mathematical operations using units of American money and weight/measurement.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense to carry out detailed written and/or oral instructions.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: Ability to work in a friendly manner with supervisors, co-workers and students. Ability to read and understand maps. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and school board policies.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is continuously required to sit, walk or stand. The employee frequently uses hand strength to grasp tools. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and peripheral vision.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works in temperatures above 90 degrees and below 32 degrees and occasionally will walk on slippery surfaces. The employee must be able to meet deadlines with severe time constraints and interact with the public and other workers. The employee has direct responsibility for the safety and well-being of others. The noise level in the work environment is frequently loud to where the employee may have to raise his/her voice to be heard.
