About this Role
Queensland Rail’s Operational Systems Engineering has an exciting opportunity for a permanent Software and Systems Engineer to join their team.
As a Software and Systems Engineer, you will provide expertise in the area of Operational Systems Engineering across software, database, configuration and hardware aspects of a diverse range of mission critical computer-based systems, as used by Network Projects customers such as remote control, real time management and passenger information systems.
You will be involved in all parts of the Software and Hardware Development Lifecycles in the development and maintenance of computer-based mission critical systems for Queensland Rail. These systems include Train Control, 25kV Overhead Control, CCTV, Tunnel Ventilation and Passenger Information and Entertainment systems.
You will need to interface with many parts of the Queensland Rail business including engineers, technicians and electricians, customer support staff and senior management.

About you:
This role will suit recent graduates or those who have 2 or less years of Engineering work experience.
After the initial transition period into this role, there will be a requirement for you to be available and willing to be on-call outside of (and additional to) standard business hours to provide 3rd line support for mission critical systems. Allowances and penalty rates applicable as per the EBA.
