Job Description

The Role

Working in Platform Delivery team you will play a central role in supporting the platforms used by software development and operational teams.

You will deploy and configure CICD tools, infrastructure as code and other shared resources related to the building, testing, release and deployment of our wagering and racing systems.

Build and develop DevOps capabilities as you work on the continuous integration and automation of our systems, driving efficiencies across our IT environments to support the continued growth of our platform.

In this role, you will provide support to users, guidance for developers and collaborate with teams to ensure that quality DevOps practices are delivered throughout the business.

As a junior engineer, you will have the opportunity to learn from domain experts and grow your own skills and expertise in a wide range of technologies. You will be joining an established team that will offer you support, coaching, and mentorship.

Qualifications

What You Need

• An understanding of DevOps concepts including experience with CI/CD tools
• Experience in a programming or scripting languages, preferably Python – Python is an advantage
• Exposure to source control tools and CI pipelines, preferably GitLab
• Appreciation of good practice for securing cloud environments
• Agile knowledge
• Excellent communications skills – written and verbal
• Willingness to learn

The following would be highly desired:

• Experience working with Amazon Web Services (or other cloud providers) and have worked with EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, Route 53 or similar.
• Experience in a programming or scripting language – Python is an advantage
• Exposure to Docker and container orchestration tools – Kubernetes is an advantage
• Understand and have worked with Infrastructure as Code tools – such Cloudformation is an advantage, Terraform.
