The Security Administrator role is responsible for administration and day-to-day operation of the organization’s security systems and processes. This position requires immediate response to system outages and emergencies via remote access or on-site assessment. Responsible for low to medium complex systems including endpoint security (AV, DLP, HIPS, HIDS, etc..), network security (IPS, IDS, Web Proxy, etc…), and email security. Participates in the establishment and maintenance of policies, procedures and associated training plans for the enforcement of security controls. Provides evidence to control effectiveness testing. Defines network and server security controls. Participates in the evaluation, selection, development, and integration of new systems and applications. Performs upgrades, monitors, troubleshoots and fixes security systems. Typically requires a bachelor’s degree and two to four years of experience. Reports to the Security Manager.
Job Responsibilities
Configuration, Installation, and Maintenance of assigned Security Systems
Administration of the security systems through appropriate application management tools.
Monitor security systems to ensure proper configuration and coverage.
System Policy Definition
Work closely with the application and infrastructure teams to define an deploy security policies to IT systems.
Vulnerability Management Consulting
Work closely with the security operations team to help risk rank vulnerabilities.
Work with the infrastructure and application teams to cull down false positives.
Qualifications
4-year degree Computer Science/ Information Systems or 2 yr. Computer Science education with comparable experience, preferred
2+ years Security engineering or operations experience preferred
Restaurant and/or Retail experience preferred
Education (or equivalent experience)
4-year degree Computer Science/ Information Systems or 2 yr. Computer Science education with comparable experience, preferred
Appropriate technical certifications are a plus (CISSP or equivalent)
Requirements
Must have the knowledge and understanding of enterprise level IT infrastructure and applications
Must have strong knowledge and understanding of enterprise level IT security solutions
Ability to operate and have availability during non-standard business hours and weekends, as needed
Must possess good IT technical, problem solving, and logical computer trouble shooting skills
Exhibits dedication and thoroughness while still meeting deadlines
Has excellent verbal and written communication skills
Executes test plans
Strong situational analysis and decision-making abilities
