Randstad New Zealand Looking for Test Engineer (Contract) – Automation, Python, Java, CICD at Auckland, Auckland, New Zealand Full Time

• Financial business based in Auckland CBD / hybrid working
• New Digital project – 6 months initially with strong chance of extension
• Comp. hourly rates / Start Jan 2024 / Weekly pay

This financial business is looking for 2 x Test Engineers (mostly automation and some manual) to come on board and join their QA Team on an initial 6 month contract starting in January 2024.

Working closely with the Test and Technical Leads, you’ll need to hit the ground running and help the team on a new digital initiative which is greenfield. This is an opportunity to get in early on this project and build from the ground up.

The business is looking to hire someone who can automate frameworks (strong preference towards Python and Java programming skills) – You will not need to automate frameworks from scratch, this has already been done. Having a STRONG programming background is necessary for this role, also any knowledge of non-functional testing would be great. Also any knowledge of AWS (Serverless) would be a big bonus!

Possessing knowledge and previous work experience in the financial, banking and / or payments space would be preferred, especially in a smaller setting as opposed to a large corporation. Strong web knowledge and testing would also be prefered.

What we want from you?

• Senior level QA experience in automation practices (previous contracting expeirence prefered)
• Pytest/Python
• Java
• Webdriver.io
• Non-funcitonal, performance testing (ideal)
• Work with Gitlab and CI/CD pipeline (being able to perform basic branching, push, pull and merge requests and resolving conflicts)
• Knowledge of Cloud practicies and deployment, ideally in AWS
• Work as part of Agile Team (Kanban/Scrum
• Has a shift left testing type of mindset
• Understanding of microservices and API
• Experienced mentoring and upskilling a wider team in automation based practices
• Attention to detail and quality
• Familiar working to Agile practices and methodologies (Scrum, TDD, BDD or Kanban)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
