Seeking a Mechanical Engineer III for a high growth defense contractor in the Burnsville, MN area.

The Senior Engineer would be responsible for leading cross-functional engineering efforts for highly complex projects to meet or exceed customer expectations. The incumbent should be able to perform system level mechanical design and lead/guide junior staff to execute detailed mechanical design and analysis tasks. Experience with manufacturing regulatory requirements for FAA aerospace is highly desired.

responsibilities:

• Lead / guide cross-functional engineering efforts for a highly complex project (or projects) on schedule and budget.

• Perform system-level architecture and detailed mechanical design, and guide staff to execute detailed design and analysis tasks.

• Review customer specifications and requirements, and guide / support project team members to develop solutions to best support those requirements.

• Collaborate and communicate clearly with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, program management and the customer as required.

• Provide / participate in project task definition and budget, cost and schedule input for project efforts.

• Interact with technical management, other professionals, technicians and support personnel to coordinate, recommend and confer regarding technical activities and progress.

• Specify and evaluate supplier components, subsystems, and services.

• Lead / guide prototype development to retire key development risks.
