About The Role

The Data Scientist role is a key business partner responsible for leveraging advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI-driven insights to address business challenges and drive innovation. This role requires a deep understanding of business needs and close collaboration with stakeholders to develop data-driven solutions that create measurable impact. Reporting directly to the Chief Digital Officer, the Data Scientist will work closely with the Data and Insights team and other business units to integrate advanced analytics into decision-making processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with business leaders to understand challenges, identify opportunities, and develop data-driven strategies to improve operations and customer outcomes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed data science solutions into business processes, ensuring they align with strategic goals.
• Lead the development of advanced analytics initiatives, applying predictive modelling, machine learning, and statistical techniques to solve complex business problems.
• Deliver actionable insights by analyzing large datasets and translating findings into business recommendations.
• Develop and prototype Machine learning models to enhance forecasting, operational efficiency, and customer segmentation.
• Work closely with the Data and Insights team to ensure alignment between foundational data capabilities and advanced analytics initiatives.
• Support digital transformation by championing data science methodologies and fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making.
• Engage with stakeholders to communicate the value of analytics and build strong business relationships that enhance the adoption of AI and predictive modelling solutions.

About You

The role requires demonstrated practical experience and a thorough understanding of data science methodologies and tools. The candidate should be dedicated to continuous improvement, highly collaborative, and able to engage with stakeholders both within and outside the business. The position involves working with a collaborative team, where maintaining a positive attitude is important.

Essential Skills

The ideal candidate will possess:

• Proven expertise in Data Science including machine learning, predictive modelling, and AI.
• Strong experience in statistical analysis and advanced data science techniques.
• Ability to work with large datasets and apply data mining techniques to generate business insights.
• Proficiency in Python, R, SQL, or similar tools.
• Familiarity with cloud-based data analytics platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
• Experience working closely with business stakeholders to translate business challenges into data-driven solutions.
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.

Desirable Skills

• Experience with real-time analytics and automation
• Exposure to agriculture, Manufacturing, Environmental data, or Supply chain analytics
• Understanding of MLOps and AI model deployment best practices
