Rebecca School, a New Story School located in Manhattan, NY is seeking a qualified 1:1 Paraprofessional to join our classroom team and work in collaboration with the Special Education teachers and other professionals to fulfill the individual curriculum and self-care needs of the students. Paraprofessionals/classroom Support Staff has a fabulous full-time schedule during school hours Mon, Thurs and Friday 8:00 am-3:30 pm and Tue, Wed 8:00am-4:30pm; comprehensive benefits package including paid time off and paid school holidays; career advancement opportunities. Salary Range: 32,000-38,000 based on 12 months and degree.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the implementation of each student’s Individualized Treatment Plan
• Assist students in the classroom and collaborate with team members to support goal achievement.
• Implement DIRFloortime strategies and techniques.
• Assist students during participation in specials such as physical education, Art, Music, community outings

Work Skills

• Must possess strong interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with child, parent/guardian, interdisciplinary team members, and other personnel involved in child’s educational program.
• Must have knowledge of Neurodevelopmental delays exhibited by children and adolescents.
• Must have strong communication skills.
• Must display a professional appearance and demeanor.
