Regional Municipality of Peel Hiring For Coordinator Public Health Emergencies Scheduling at Ontario Full Time
Job Description:
New employees who commence employment on or after October 1, 2021 are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as a condition of employment. Being fully vaccinated is determined as the status of having received the full series of approved vaccines (both doses of a two dose vaccine series, one dose of a single dose vaccine series) and any additional doses required and approved by Health Canada and having satisfied the full post vaccination period required to ensure vaccination efficacy. The Region of Peel reserves the right to request proof of vaccination at any time. Coordinator Public Health Emergencies Scheduling
Health Services – Public Health
Contract Duration: 2 (6 month contracts) & 2 (8 month contracts)
Works in collaboration with the public health emergencies teams to plan and coordinate scheduling for COVID-19 Operational staff who provide services mandated by the Ministry of Health through the Ontario Public Health Standards and the Region of Peel.
Major Responsibilities:
- Generate and update staffing schedules in collaboration with COVID -19 and vaccination response teams.
- Accommodate vacation, leave of absence, illness and additional staff needs
- Advise supervisor of any scheduling discrepancies
- Completing required program documentation
- Monitoring and updating schedules as needed
- Enter employee attendance into system
- Data entry and track program statistics
- Prepare reports
- Answer telephone enquiries from staff
- Exercises considerable judgment, tact and discretion in preparing, disclosing and handling confidential information
- Follows guidelines laid out by Region of Peel, Public Health Standards and other regulatory bodies
- Participates in team, sectional or divisional projects/meetings
- Problem solve in collaboration with the COVID-19 response teams
- Develops and maintains cooperative and collaborative relationships with internal and external parties
- Respects issues of diversity, ethnicity, language and culture
- Ensure staff have access to updated schedules in a timely manner.
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Secondary school graduate plus post-secondary office administration education or related field combined with general office experience
- Scheduling experience, preferably in a health care setting
- Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service to external clients
- Knowledge of Public Health OPHS and Regional policies
- Well developed and proven written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated accurate data entry skills with a keen eye for detail
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
- Strong customer service orientation
- Exceptional time management/organizational skills
- Ability to deal with changing tasks and priorities
- Demonstrated ability to work in a self-directed manner in a team oriented environment
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Public health experience an asset
- Knowledge of JBS scheduling platform an asset
Location: Due to Covid-19, some of our offices are working at limited capacity to protect the health and safety of our employees, clients and community. As such, this position will be required to work remotely for an undetermined period. Once working onsite, you will report to 7120 Hurontario Street, Mississauga.

Hours: 8 hour and 9.75 hour shifts on a rotational basis. Ability to work after hours, weekends, and on-call duties on a rotational basis required.
