As a Junior Software Engineer at REI Systems, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting projects that leverage the latest technologies in software development. Key Responsibilities

• Software Development Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code using Java and Spring Boot to develop robust and scalable software solutions.
• Cloud Integration Work with AWS services to design, deploy, and manage cloud-based applications and services.
• Containerization Assist in containerization efforts using Kubernetes to deploy and manage containerized applications.
• Database Management Collaborate with the team to design and optimize PostgreSQL databases, ensuring data integrity and performance.
• Testing and Quality Assurance Create and maintain Selenium-based end-to-end tests to ensure the quality and reliability of the software. Write unit tests, participate in code reviews, and perform debugging.
• Documentation Create and maintain technical documentation for code, system architecture, and processes.
• Collaboration Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and other engineers, to deliver high-quality software products.
• Continuous Learning Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to continuously improve your skills and contribute innovative ideas.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Solid understanding of the general principles of Java, or another object oriented language
• Familiarity with Spring Boot or other MVC/rest based back end architecture
• Experience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and tools.

 

Desired Qualifications

• Experience creating and consuming REST based services
• Knowledge of containerization technologies like docker and kubernetes.
• Proficiency in creating and maintaining Selenium-based end-to-end tests.
• Basic understanding of cloud computing and AWS services.

Education Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, or another technical related field

PMP and Certifications in Agile Project Management or equivalent, e.g. PMI Agile Certified Practitioner, Certified Scrum Professional.

Clearance Public trust/ Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance

Location/Remote Hybrid (two days a week in either Sterling, VA)
