Reliable Carriers Hiring for Diesel Shop Coordinator (Afternoon Shift) at Canton, MI Full Time

• As a Fleet Maintenance Shop & Parts Coordinator, your duties will include overseeing maintenance information and perform light mechanical work when needed.
• Responsible for the department’s smooth operation.
• Supporting the shop manager.
• Helping to administer the vehicle maintenance program at Reliable Carriers.
• Assist with mechanical task around shop when necessary. This is not a mechanic position, however mechanical experience is preferred.

• Maintains fleet records on inventory levels, preventive maintenance schedules, and corrective maintenance performed on all units.
• Handle phone calls, driver walk-in request, scheduling, etc
• Assist drivers to coordinate repair needs.
• Manage repair work orders and enter data into the system.
• Maintain and administer preventative maintenance service scheduling.
• Help maintenance technicians as needed to determine which parts and accessories are required for each job.
• Keep inventory and parts up to date in the system.
• Handle stocking and organizing parts & equipment.
• Prepare correspondence, reports, and written materials for personnel.
• Act as a point of contact with outside vendors to place orders, verify accuracy, and manage invoicing.
• Assisting the shop manager in other tasks necessary to the operation of the shop.
• Keep work area clean & organized.

• 2 years of relevant work experience.
• Some technical knowledge regarding vehicle maintenance and repair (preferred).
• Can assist with mechanical shop needs when necessary

• Ability to work in a shop environment.
• Organized, a great communicator, detail oriented, computer savvy, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast paced environment.
• Capable of lifting 50 lbs.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office; and Excel required.
• Process oriented and organized.
