Resolute Documentation Services Hiring for Freelance Proofreader – Legal and Law Enforcement at Remote Full Time

Resolute Documentation Services is hiring for a law enforcement and legal proofreader position.

Pay: $17.00/hr – Remote – Contract

The Proofreader is responsible for providing quality assurance of transcripts produced for our customers.

Job Responsibilities:

• Listen to audio/video while proofreading the transcript
• Ensure 100% accuracy and that every utterance was correctly captured
• Verify that speakers have been correctly identified throughout.
• Identify and correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors in transcripts
• Detect formatting and compositional errors in documents/templates
• Document errors and provide feedback to managers to be distributed to transcription staff.

The successful candidate will:

Have experience dealing with transcripts from Law Enforcement and legal sources including, verbatim interviews, body cam video, jail calls, 911 calls, legal hearings and similar work types.

Pass a local and national criminal background check.

Sign and comply with confidentiality agreements, regulatory and cybersecurity frameworks.

General Requirements:

• Typing speed of at least 55 WPM
• Excellent grammar and punctuation skills
• Exceptional listening skills
• Attention to detail is a must
• Ability to meet deadlines

Computer Requirements:

• PC running Windows 10 or 11
• Wired internet (cable/fiber). Not satellite or wireless broadband (T-Mobile, etc.)
• Ability to connect your computer directly to the internet router in your home with a cable (not Wifi).

Pay is direct deposit, twice a month.

You must be domiciled in the U.S.A. and be authorized to work.

Candidates will be asked to do skills testing during the interview process.
