WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Working embedded with the client as part of a multi-disciplinary team, this role engages directly with our client to understand requirements and deliverables in an R&D environment.
The Software Engineer and Program Coordinator will coordinate the Technical Leads for up to four project lines through the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), and contribute software engineering expertise as part of the team responsible for utilising and developing software, which assists in the automation of computer vision tasks, supporting the Analyst workflow.
The team also designs and builds systems that can manage large quantities of imagery, and apply deep learning through convolutional neural networks to augment analysis.
We provide an opportunity for the incumbent to maintain grassroots software engineering functions whilst stepping into the aspects of program management.
About the role
As the Software Engineer and Program Coordinator, you can anticipate some of your day-to-day tasks to include:
- Undertake software system design and development activities and software unit integration testing;
- Act as the interface between the customer and technical team to ensure deliverable outcomes are met;
- Scheduling programs of work across program lines;
- Management of the SDLC;
- Reviewing of other team members work to ensure accuracy and compliance with completion criteria;
- Provide system design, costing and schedule advice in support of proposal generation;
- Facilitate collaboration with RDA staff and clients;
- Maintain strict confidentiality;
- Comply with RDA policies and improvements

The experience and skillset best suited to this role include:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in development of software systems and leading software development
- Experience working with clients to determine requirements
- Experience in software environments such as C, C++, Python
- Experience with machine learning
- Working knowledge of DevSecOps
- Experience in Cloud and cloud infrastructure
- Experience with the SDLC
- Experience working within an agile software development environment
- NV1 Clearance
