Up to and including 19/02/2022 – Mondays to Fridays 8am-4.30pm. 37.5 hour working week.
As of 20/02/2022 – normal hours of work are from either 07:00 to 19:00 or 19:00 to 07:00 with 1×30-minute unpaid break and 1×30-minute paid break each day. Shift roster is either Sunday to Tuesday and every second Wednesday or Thursday to Saturday and every second Wednesday.

Purpose of Role:
· The Warehouse Supervisor will supervise 4 to 8 direct reports facilitating all material movements into and out of the warehouse located within the customer facility across multiple shifts. This roles requires the candidate to operate independently and maintain the warehouse operation with little intervention, this will be balance across shift and central project planning. The candidate will have responsibility for executing all material movements to supply materials per demand and including upfront set and planning with enable the operation. This role will be responsible for team development and maintaining the team capacity through recruitment. This role will have the opportunity / need for domestic travel for extended periods following project demand.[CE1] [HG2]
· Provide operational support by owning and managing the daily activities of the business in a manner which promotes the Health and Safety values of DB Schenker.
· Provide leadership and guidance to promote and ensure operational excellence.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities:
Operational
· Supervise and organise the daily activities of the warehouse in order to meet the highest level of customer service and required service levels.
· Work with the Operations Manager to ensure that control processes are adhered to.
· Report out daily, weekly and monthly performance as required.
· Ensure participation in the Operational, Safety, Quality, Training and other cross-functional meetings as required.
· Manage investigations and corrective action follow-up to ensure immediate closure.
· Act as an interface between management team and functional team and network in tracking area progress on key issues.
· Develop the company’s inventory management strategy with the aim of controlling costs within budgetary limits, generating savings, rationalising inventory and maximising available working capital.
· Manage and maintain the company’s material and stocked product inventory including stock profiles and stock locations.
· Manage and control perpetual inventory stock counting / inventory accuracy checks.
· Ensure that goods inward / stock control department is well organised and controlled to sufficiently support production and the goals of the business.
· Perform cycle stock checks.
Customer Services
· Liaise with the customer on a daily basis.
People Management
· Maintain continuous focus on employee welfare with specific emphasis on health and safety and housekeeping.
· Direct and motivate warehouse team in order to meet operational goals.
· Mentor and coach the team in order to ensure full performance potential.
· Performance management (including, but not limited to, setting goals and objectives, performance appraisals, disciplinary issues).
· Ensure that the training plan is achieved on an on-going basis.
· Maintain personnel records (including hours of work, overtime, attendance, holidays etc.) where required.
· Recruit for vacancies on the team when they arise.
Compliance
· To abide to the Compliance Policies and Procedures of the Company.
Occupational H&S
· Take reasonable care of your own and other people’s Health & Safety in the workplace.
· Report hazards in your work or in your work environment that may be putting your or anyone else’s Health & Safety at risk.
· Liaise with the Occupational Health provider when QSHE manager deems a consultation is required.
Key Outputs/Performance Measures
· Drive necessary and appropriate operational practices within the facility to ensure recognised emphasis on safety-first is maintained and that Schenker is seen best-in-class in safety management.
· Continuous improvement on Safety KPI’s.
· Ensure SMBO’s (Schenker Management by Objectives) completed in timely manner.
· Demonstrate best in class in regard to Safety practices by innovated methods to keep Safety Program Fresh and current.
· Maintain Supplier Report Cards in exceptional bracket on quarterly basis.
· Maintain all KPI’s above customer targets while achieving financial plan for the year.
o Achieve Operational Budget targets (Overtime, Transport, Contracts).
· Inventory Integrity program maintained above customers expectations.
· Develop good relationship with Customer to ensure a positive working partnership.
· Be a major contributor to the Quality (Continuous Improvement) Program, challenge your team to demonstrate value add.
· Drive culture of equity and consistency across the site to achieve reduction in disciplinary matters while maintaining low attrition levels.
· Meet with the Operations Manager monthly on cost savings and best practices, report quarterly and meet/exceed contract commitments.
· Timely closure of actions essential to continuous improvement.
· Manage and maintain training plan for all staff, particularly team leads.
· Using existing risk-assessment techniques, identify key dependencies and develop succession plans for all key roles, including your own.
· Risk assessing and succession planning develop analysis.
· Present Operations Training Progress Report to Operations Manager at the end of every month.
· Monitor costs/callouts with suppliers.
· Facility housekeeping, appropriate signage, internal and external visual appearance.
· Ensure warehouse is always presentable for customer visits.
· Manage control measures to ensure mistakes, inaccuracies and discrepancies are highlighted, addressed and resolved.
· Achieve 100% inventory record accuracy.
· Provide routine management information on inventory performance.
· Monitor and evaluate consumables usage & costs.
· Monitor & evaluate material utilization and scrap.
· There may be manual handling requirements involved in this role (e.g. lifting 35-pound boxes).
Additional Tasks
· In addition to this you are required to carry out any other duties as reasonably requested by your Line Manager.
· Successful candidates will be expected to help the team and perform a Warehouse Operative’s role where required.
Other
· Before arriving to the work environment, the successful candidate will need to go through a construction site where a hard helmet, high visibility jacket and safety boots will always need to be worn.
· You must be available throughout the week for am/pm shifts.

PERSON SPECIFICATION: The ideal candidate will have the following:
Experience / Knowledge
· 2 years minimum Supervisory experience in relevant industry.
· People management experience and a demonstrable track record of training of warehouse staff.
· Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems e.g. SAP.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Personal Attributes
· Commitment to safety and quality
· Customer focused individual with at least 3 years experience in a logistics role within a large organisation.
· Excellent organisational and planning skills.
· People management skills – ability to motivate, coach & develop staff.
· Ability to perform under pressure.
· Good IT skills to include Microsoft Office products and Warehouse Management systems.
· Excellent communication skills with the ability to demonstrate patience & enthusiasm.
· Flexibility & Initiative & a ‘Can do’ attitude.
· Good understanding of laws, regulations, and policies related to HR and Safety i.e. HSA and Employment legislation.
Qualifications / Education
· A qualification in supply chain and logistics and/or supervisory management would be a distinct advantage.
