We have a rare opportunity for a strong administrator to join the Tiwai community at New Zealand’s Aluminium Smelter (NZAS), in the role of Executive Assistant.

A great opportunity for an experienced, hands-on and highly organised individual who can easily adapt to the day-to-day challenges of this high-level role. Your recent experience in a similar role, a can-do attitude, along with attention to detail will see you soon become a highly valued member of the team.

Reporting directly to General Manager, working within a team environment and being adaptable to working autonomously when required, you will:

• Provide administrative and secretarial support with the management of day-to-day activities as required
• Monitor, track and action tasks, escalating and delegating where appropriate
• Be responsible for diary and email management together with call screening and visitor assistance
• Coordinate and organise business and team meetings, room bookings and Outlook invites
• Produce presentations, reports and meeting agendas, taking notes when required
• Arrange and co-ordinate business travel
• Lead and assist in project-based workflow where required and be the go-to person for the extended team
• Develop and maintaining a good working relationship with the other divisional EA’s and providing leave backfill as required
• Manage end to end service requests for stakeholders (e.g., RTTMS tickets, etc.)
• Adhoc administrative and support tasks as required

What you’ll bring

To succeed in this role, you will have the following experience and attributes:

• Demonstrated administration experience in a similar role
• Ability to always be one step ahead, being proactive when it comes to Management and business needs
• A helpful ‘can do’ attitude with good problem-solving attributes
• Proficient computer skills and in-depth knowledge of relevant software such as MS Office Suite (including Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, MS Forms)
• Be highly organised and have a solid working knowledge of standard office administrative practices and procedures
• Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills
• Be proactive, a great multi-tasker and take initiative with a business improvement mindset
• Be amiable and adaptable to different working styles

Based at Tiwai Point in New Zealand’s south, NZAS makes aluminium with one of the lowest carbon footprints in the world, and it is the only aluminium smelter to produce ultra-high purity metal using renewable hydroelectricity. Receiving the majority of its alumina from our Yarwun and Queensland Alumina Limited refineries in Gladstone, Australia, the smelter produces more than 335,000 tonnes of aluminium each year.
