Job Summary

RJ Bartlett Engineering Ltd is seeking an Accounting and Payroll Administrator, reporting to and working in collaboration with senior management out of either the Fredericton, NB or Halifax, NSoffice. The position is dynamic and requires the person selected to be responsible for accounting for an independently owned business as well as payroll and benefits administration. This position also provides the opportunity to assist in the development and support of human resource initiatives, and to contribute to the development of internal processes and reports as part of the team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly financial statements along with the required account reconciliations and analysis.
• Prepare the year end reconciliations and working papers for the company’s external accountants.
• Prepare annual budgets, forecasts, and various management reports.
• Monitor and forecast cashflow.
• Supervise internal control processes.
• Prepare and submit bi-weekly payroll and year end filings.
• Administer employee benefits, RRSP, and worker’s compensation.
• Develop and support human resources initiatives.
• Other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned.

Qualifications/Prerequisites

• A post-secondary education in accounting, finance, or business administration.
• 3-5 years of financial management experience & knowledge of ASPE regulations.
• 1-2 years payroll and benefits administration (3rdparty payroll service).
• Intermediate knowledge of Office365 and Quickbooks.
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and accuracy.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Compensation

The standard work week is 37.5 hour (7.5 hours per day).

The salary will be commensurate with the level of experience, education, and qualifications. Salary: $60,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
