This permanent position is for a Controller who will work in the Charlotte, North Carolina region. Candidates who can plan and direct all accounting operational functions, handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluate accounting and internal control systems, and lead departmental staff, will be preferred for this position. The ideal candidate for this position can effectively manage self and others within strict time constraints when providing client services, lead while also being a team player, generate innovative ideas, and challenge the status quo. Major responsibilities

• Analyze, apply and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

• Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor on a monthly basis

• Meet client expectations by reviewing deliverables of self and team to make sure they meet client satisfaction

• Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure efficient and successful firm-wide operation

• Direct finance department activities, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

• Prepare cash-flow reports that project cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and handle daily cash management

• Perform tasks associated with month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis

• Ensure timely cash collection by driving the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques

• Advance Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed, with research, planning and implementation

• Give executive committee and partners monthly financial reports

• Able to perform additional tasks beyond formal job duties Requirements – Comprehensive knowledge of Commercial Construction Projects

• Command of month end closings

• BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field

• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent

• The ideal candidate will be highly-skilled with exceptional analytical, quantitative and social skills

• Prior work in technology, analytics and management experience desired

• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred

• Excellent oral and written communication skills

• Previous experience in public accounting is highly valued

• Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems

• Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines

• CPA or MBA preferred

• Outstanding communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations

• High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills
