If you have accounting experience and want to work with a well-respected Energy/Natural Resources firm, Robert Half has an opening for a Senior Accountant. This role handles essential tasks, such as financial statement preparation and consolidation, account analysis and reconciliations, cash flow analysis, budgets and forecasting, audit preparation, and internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. The challenging, fast-paced work environment requires top-notch analytical skills. This Senior Accountant role is based in Houston, Texas with a company in the Energy/Natural Resources field. What you get to do every day

• Present Balance Sheet account reconciliations

• Assemble monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting

• Contribute to coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors

• Prepare financial analysis on trends, performance metrics, benchmarks, etc.

• Work with business partners to ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures and controls and provide support on special requests

• Administer Ad-hoc projects as necessary

• Engage in various department-wide initiatives

• Produce error-free monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables such as journal entries, reconciliations, reports in compliance with GAAP

• Commitment to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process

  Requirements – Great attention to detail

• Must have excellent time management skills

• Ability to handle multiple projects within strict deadlines

• Experience with ERP systems

• 3+ years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience

• Strong familiarity with Balance Sheet Reconciliation

• Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation experience preferred

• Revenue recognition experience highly desired

• Contract Terms experience

• Comprehensive knowledge of journal entries

• Earlier experience in public accounting is highly valued

• Proficiency with corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required

• Deep understanding of internal controls and SOX compliance

• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

• Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity

• BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred

• Extraordinary analytical, quantitative and social skills

• Self-starter and strong ethical standards
