Robert Walters Looking for Media / Senior Media Advisor at Wellington, Wellington Region, New Zealand Full Time

Seeking driven media professionals at both the Advisor and Senior level. These are pivotal roles within a renowned public sector organisation, and a fantastic opportunity to work with an already established, high performing media team. It goes without saying that you will have an eye for stories, an excellent risk-radar, and a passion for media!

Based in the Wellington CBD, you will work to provide proactive media advice and support in the management of issues and stories of national interest. Further responsibilities include;

• Ensuring that all communications activity is planned and prioritised, targeted to appropriate audiences, in plain English and uses the most effective channels
• Producing content for external audiences across a range of online and offline channels – website, newsletters, publications and press releases
• Writing and producing media releases; developing and maintaining relationships with media contacts and pitching stories to gain coverage at a local and national level
• Consulting with the business to provide proactive communications support and advice on reputational risks and issues

Key Requirements

• A tertiary qualification or previous experience in a public sector communications or journalism role
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• A demonstrated ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders and establish working relationships quickly
• Proven ability to balance multiple priorities and work to deadlines
