About the role
The Avionics R&D Team is responsible for the design, test, and integration of the electrical systems and electronics that form the backbone of our Electron and Neutron launch vehicles, Photon satellite bus, spacecraft components, as well as ground support and test equipment.
In this role, you will be on the front-line of cutting-edge avionics product development. You will have the unique opportunity to support the creation, test, and deployment of avionics hardware and systems that go into orbit. This includes but is not limited to flight computers, power electronic systems, high-voltage components, FPGAs, RF systems, and components used in guidance, navigation, and control.
As a member of the Avionics Test group, you will be on the front-line of cutting-edge avionics hardware development. You will have the unique opportunity to support the creation, test, and deployment of avionics hardware and systems that go into orbit.
This includes but is not limited to flight computers, power electronic systems, high-voltage components, FPGAs, RF systems, and components used in guidance, navigation, and control. Our fundamental goal is to ensure our payloads reach orbit on time, every time. Your role working with avionics hardware is critical to this mission, and the main line of defence to ensure the quality and reliability in a fast-paced production environment.
Essential Skills
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or other engineering discipline.
• 1+ years of experience with hardware development or electronics test
engineering.
• 1+ years of programming experience in a language such as C, C++, Python,
or Matlab.
Desired Skills
• Understanding of instrumentation, interfaces and sensors including power
supplies, oscilloscopes, serial devices, switch topologies, accelerometers,
thermocouples, RTDs, and 4-20mA sensors.
• Understanding in analysing circuits and developing functional test plans.
• Understanding of designing hardware from concept through production.
• Understanding of electronic circuits, design principles, and manufacturing
techniques to analyse and improve test coverage
