Rockwater Associates Hiring for Bookkeeper at Remote Full Time

We are currently looking to expand our finance team to support the growing number of clients engaging with Rockwater Associates for accounting services. This role is responsible for tracking and managing complex financial records and reports in order to assist in delivering world class accounting services to small and medium sized business owners. The successful candidate will have exceptional communication skills, an eye for detail, and a strong ability to prioritize projects.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensure accuracy and effectiveness in all accounting tasks and reports
• Assist with management of bookkeeping processes for clients
• Work with client’s existing accounting software or assist with the implantation of a new accounting software platform
• Reporting responsibilities include but are not limited to A/P & A/R, P&L, banking, balance sheets, inventory, resource usage, cash flow, business performance etc.
• Leverage technology for improved customer efficiency and to drive customer experience enhancements
• Remain in frequent contact with clients in your responsibility to understand their ongoing needs
• Maintain records of financial transactions by establishing accounts; posting transactions; ensure legal requirements compliance
• Assist in the development of systems to account for financial transactions by establishing a chart of accounts and defining bookkeeping policies and procedures
• Maintain and balance subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions and reconciling entries
• Maintain and balance general ledger by transferring subsidiary account summaries and preparing a trial balance and reconciling entries
• Maintain historical records by filing documents
• Prepare financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends
• Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying requirements; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing reports; advising management on needed actions
• Responsible for meeting and exceeding utilization requirements established by leadership
• Ad hoc duties

Qualifications

• 3+ years of bookkeeping experience
• Strong financial management skills and thorough knowledge of bookkeeping procedures
• Extreme attention to detail required
• High aptitude and excellent independent judgement
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and to work with a team
• Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of the organization; both internally and externally
• Proficient use of applicable technology and ability to learn new software platforms
• Strong business acumen
