Position Purpose: Lead the development of application solutions and innovation for pharmaceutical products. Support customer needs via lab studies, on-site support and training.

Job Description

This is a regional role based in a laboratory specializing in formulation and process development for Roquette’s plant-based excipients using various traditional and advanced processing technologies employed by the pharmaceutical industry. The role requires extensive laboratory work and scientific knowledge to support the global GBU Pharma objectives, regional commercial team and external partners/customers.

Key responsibilities include the following:

• Develop application solutions to support customer needs based on scientific evidence.
• Lead, coordinate and/or execute application studies in the area of Pharmaceutical dosage forms to demonstrate and evaluate the functional value of our solutions.
• Lead and participate in global innovation projects and independent/collaborative research activities to create value for Roquette through patented solutions.
• Lead and Conduct external and internal technical trainings for customers, sales team, and business partners.
• Lead customer visits, external trials, exhibitions, conferences and Roquette technical seminars.
• Manage and execute activities to meet study objectives in a timely, cost effective manner.
• Maintain proper records of laboratory studies according to good documentation practices to protect Roquette’s intellectual property and regulatory purposes.
• Participate in general laboratory management such as inventory management, purchasing-related activities, maintenance of equipment and infrastructure, and quality documentation.
• Commit and act, under all circumstances, in accordance to the values and principles of Roquette’s Code of Conduct /Ethics, as well as Quality & Safety policies.

• Legally eligible to work in USA
• Advanced Degree (PhD or Masters) in Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Sciences or Pharmaceutical Engineering
• Minimum 5-7 years of related experience with specialized skills in pharmaceutical formulation and manufacturing technologies. Pharmaceutical GMP manufacturing and/or R&D experience is a plus.
• Knowledge and experience in pharmaceutical dosage forms (tablets, granules, capsules, syrups, injectables etc..), and their process (direct compression, wet granulation, dry granulation, powder mixing, film-coating, encapsulation, stability and packaging etc..).
• Knowledge and experience in research methodology, Quality by Design and statistics.
• Adaptable, independent and solutions driven with strong problem solving abilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work in cross-functional global teams and build positive working relationships.
• Leader with proven track record of initiating and driving scientific projects to completion.
• Hands on person and able to multi-task.
• Good spoken and written English. Working knowledge of other languages is desirable
• Travelling is required (5-10%).
