Roush has an immediate opening for a Calibration Engineer II who will be responsible for developing powertrain calibrations for future automotive products. Other responsibilities include supporting the design and development of powertrain hardware, controls software, and other vehicle systems. Timely authorization to work in the U.S. is required. This position is in Allen Park, MI.
As a Calibration Engineer II, you will:
Carry out dynamometer and/or vehicle-based calibration development
Analyze test results to calibrate the powertrain control system
Perform hot climate, cold climate, and high-altitude development testing to meet customer objectives
Calibrate all aspects of powertrain function, including core engine and transmission control features, electronic throttle control and reliability monitor, OBDII, tailpipe and evaporative emissions and auxiliary subsystems
Provide positive technical contributions in a project team environment
To be considered as a Calibration Engineer II, you will need:
Bachelor of Science in mechanical, automotive, or electrical engineering
Minimum two (2) years of hands-on powertrain calibration experience at an OEM or T1 supplier
Experience using commercially available calibration tool software (e.g., ETAS INCA, ATI VISION)
Able to read and interpret controls algorithms presented in MATLAB Simulink or C-based software documentation
Strong MS Office Excel capabilities
Solid knowledge of powertrain system operating principals
Understanding of common powertrain electronic and electromechanical sensors and actuators
Good intrapersonal, verbal and written communication skills
Must have valid driver’s license with safe driving record
A successful candidate may also have:
Engine dynamometer-based mapping or hardware development experience
Work performed in an environmental or emissions test facility
Travel for extreme ambient condition testing
Data processing with MATLAB and automated script writing
MS PowerPoint and Project software
ICE FSAE or BAJA
ICE engine build or machining experience
AVL Indicom or A&D CAS or other combustion analysis software
Ability to drive a manual transmission vehicle
