Runyan + Associates Hiring for Accountant at Remote Full Time

We’re looking for an accountant to join us and round out our accounting department as we continue modernizing our approach. Because you’ll be working directly with clients and proactively managing your workload, you should have at least three years of bookkeeping experience and be strong in customer service skills. You should also be very familiar with QuickBooks and able to quickly learn new systems such as Gusto.

We’re looking for someone who’s ready to do the best work of their career and partner with us for the long-term – without risking their health, sanity, or life outside of work. We don’t buy into the idea that working hard means working late or working weekends – unless it’s by choice.

About the job

On a typical day, you can expect to spend time maintaining and reconciling balance sheet and general ledger accounts, completing month and year-end closing processes, reviewing bookkeeping tasks, assisting with payroll preparation, providing client support over video and phone, assisting with tax preparation, and coordinating with other team members. You should expect to work 32 to 40 hours each week.

Initially, you’ll be working closely with other team members to better understand our processes and our clients. As you become familiar with things, you’ll be expected to manage your workload on your own while still asking questions and getting feedback when needed. Your accountability will be based on your process and the results you produce, not just the hours you work.

You’ll have to be able to work remotely just as well as you do in person. Many of us work from home and most of the work you’ll be doing will be through the cloud. If you’re located in the Bozeman area and wish to work in our office, you have that capability. Otherwise, this position is fully remote as long as you’re based in the continental U.S.

Compensation and benefits

We believe in taking care of our staff. Your pay will be between $25 and $30 per hour, depending on your experience. In addition to our lower hours, flexible and limited schedules, and remote capabilities, other benefits we offer are paid continuing education, health and dental insurance, a 3% company-matching SIMPLE IRA plan, eight paid holidays, and paid time off. You’ll also be eligible to participate in our performance-based bonus plans.
