At the intersection of mind and action, Ryerson is on a transformative path to become Canada’s leading comprehensive innovation university. Integral to this path is the placement of equity, diversity and inclusion as fundamental to our institutional culture. Our current academic plan outlines each as core values and we work to embed them in all that we do.
Ryerson University welcomes those who have demonstrated a commitment to upholding the values of equity, diversity, and inclusion and will assist us to expand our capacity for diversity in the broadest sense. In addition, to correct the conditions of disadvantage in employment in Canada, we encourage applications from members of groups that have been historically disadvantaged and marginalized, including First Nations, Metis and Inuit peoples, Indigenous peoples of North America, racialized persons, persons with disabilities, and those who identify as women and/or 2SLGBTQ+. Please note that all qualified candidates are encouraged to apply; however, applications from Canadians and permanent residents will be given priority.
In August 2021, the university announced that it would begin a renaming process to address the legacy of Egerton Ryerson for a more inclusive future. Let’s write the next chapter together. To learn more about our work environment, colleagues, leaders, students and innovative educational environment
Faculty of Engineering and Architectural Science
At the Faculty of Engineering and Architectural Science (FEAS) at Ryerson University, we immerse ourselves in the economic, social and technological communities we serve. As they evolve, we shift to meet their needs, leveraging our strengths and generating novel solutions. It is our mission to be a leader in Canada, where highly skilled, adaptable students and researchers develop as people and professionals, and work together for one purpose: to improve quality of life around the world.
FEAS has close to 5,000 undergraduate students enrolled in nine programs; over 1000 graduate students in ten master’s and seven doctoral programs; and over 150 faculty members. Masters of Project Management in Built Environment (MPMBE) and Masters of Engineering Innovation and Entrepreneurship (MEIE)
We are thrilled to announce that we are hiring a Graduate Program Administrator (GPA) for the forthcoming Masters of Project Management in Built Environment (MPMBE) and the Masters of Engineering Innovation and Entrepreneurship (MEIE), a faculty wide interdisciplinary program placed under the FEAS Dean’s office. The Project Management in the Built Environment (PMBE) program is in its final stages of approvals, and we expect to launch it in Fall 2022 (admissions this winter, pending Government authorization). This new program will help AEC professionals build their project management skills with an eye to achieving sustainability, leverage digitization and emerging technologies, and deliver fantastic projects. The program will also nurture strong connections with industry and will build capacity related to innovative construction, fabrication and virtual construction technologies and sustainable building practices, as well as synergistic ties with existing graduate programs in FEAS. It will offer the following degrees: MASc for research / thesis focus and MPM for the course option degree.
On the other hand, the MEIE program is a 16-month, four-semester program designed for engineering students, science students and industry professionals interested in advancing their own technology-based-start-ups or leading innovation within an existing organization. The MEIE program offers a course focused MEIE degree, and it has strong connections with the Centre for Engineering Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CEIE) and the Innovation Boost Zone (IBZ). The MEIE program is designed to deliver learning through practices of actionable theory, which focus on the process, as well as the outcome. Following the “Lean Startup” methodology, the MEIE program fosters students’ ability to think creatively in quest to develop innovative products and services. To know more about what kind of problems our aspiring students are trying to tackle, please check our website https://www.ryerson.ca/master-engineering-innovation-entrepreneurship/students/
