What you’ll be doing…
The Lead Solution Engineer – Life Sciences has a niche focus on and skills with deep technical proof points, including business intelligence, complex data sources and ETL. This position plays a pivotal role in aligning innovative digital strategies across Life Sciences – Pharmaceuticals, Medical Devices and other related organizations. The Lead Solution Engineer participates in data acquisition and transformation delivery and may provide oversight and technical checkpoints to enforce standards and quality of BI solutions; Researches new technologies, tools and methodologies as they emerge that may be applicable. The Lead Solution Engineer provides sales support pre-sales contributing towards the successful conversion of prospects to customers and engages customers to nurture repeat purchases.
Some aspects of the role include…
Work with prospect’s data to deliver outstanding product demonstrations
Provide strategic pre-sales support for sales activities including needs analysis, data review, product demonstrations and other general sales support
Become a specialist in the features, benefits and application of Tableau’s products
Drive all aspects of successful Proof of Concepts from requirements and design to training and delivery
Communicate via phone, email, face-to-face and web meetings with prospects assisting and guiding them through the evaluation and selection process
Communicate daily with sales staff regarding sales activities and strategies
Educate and train the sales force in the full range of features and use of Tableau and ETL products
Provide proactive support to customers and prospects
Be the customer advocate and liaison for product management and development
Support all strategic deals involving robust data and/or data sources
Backup the technical support staff as needed
Who you are…
Excellent Communicator. You know what to say and how to say it.
Experienced . 7+ years of experience in a Sales Engineer/ Sales Consulting role or equivalent experience in Analytics/Business Intelligence.
Domain Expert . Strong understanding and experience selling into Life Science organizations, large Enterprise accounts and consistent over achievement of sales goals in the territory.
Outstanding Salesperson . Experience with both transactional sales and strategic selling experience – have sold across all lines of business (not just IT), and possesses ability to tailor the conversation as needed. Ability to run sales calls unaccompanied to build technical relationship, campaigns internal to organization to foster internal understanding of Tableau.
Highly Technical . You have strong technical skills across various technologies & impeccable discernment. Experience with SQL or MDX (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, Analysis Services, Essbase, Snowflake, etc.). Experience with ETL tools (Informatica, Data Integrator, Data Transformation Services, Alteryx, etc.). Experience with cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure) a strong plus.
Teammate. You’re the best at what you do and you know how to work with your colleagues to get their best.
Data Superpowers . Snowflake, SAP BW/HANA, Cloud/Cloud Strategies, MS Power BI experience is a strong plus.
