Team Description:
The Retail and Consumer Goods solutions team works with consumer-facing brands of all sizes, from e-commerce startups to retailers and consumer goods manufacturers with a global footprint. As pre-sales engineers and architects, we partner with our customers to use Salesforce technology to drive digital transformation within their companies and support the sales team in winning new business. We work in a fast-paced, team-driven environment where everyone brings something unique to the table to get the job done.
Role Description:
Technical Architects are the solutions team members who know what’s possible and how to make it happen, no matter how complex the challenge appears to be. Their domain and product knowledge allows them to serve as subject matter experts on the account team, not only in terms of product and domain knowledge, but also in how to craft the right solutions to satisfy both business and IT buyers. They are not afraid to dig into the inner workings of our platform to answer a challenging question or address an objection, and are equally comfortable speaking to a room of software developers as they are to the CIO. They are willing to be honest about potential challenges and always keep the long-term success of the customer in mind. People who enjoy both working with technology in a deep way and relating to people will excel in this role.
Your Impact:
The most successful Technical Architects focus on the following areas of impact:
Work with well-known retailers and consumer brands to solve a wide variety of technical challenges using Salesforce solutions across our whole suite of products and clouds.
Develop relationships with IT stakeholders at our customers and help them to understand how the Salesforce platform fits into their overall technology strategy.
Act as a trusted advisor and guide customers towards solutions that have the greatest likelihood of long-term success.
Hone your knowledge of the Salesforce platform through hands-on training and exploration in the areas of customization, integration, and service delivery and support our account-aligned solution engineers when this deeper level of expertise is needed to solve customer challenges.
Guide deal strategy by providing insight into the technical buyer and crafting influence strategies that resonate with this audience.
Keep current with both partner and competitive technologies in order to put proposed solutions into the context of the broader technology landscape.
Highlight insights from customer conversations with our product teams to help ensure we are moving in the direction of market needs.
Share your knowledge and approaches with the broader solution engineering teams to multiply the impact of your work.
Continue to develop yourself as a technologist and as a pre-sales professional in a supportive, collaborative team environment.
Minimum Requirements:
Ability to understand business & IT department requirements, translate those business needs into a compelling solution and present your recommendations to executive, technical, and business audience.
Deep knowledge of enterprise software applications and their delivery, including several of the following:
Some coding experience and a willingness to work with code (Java or C#, JavaScript, python, Ruby, HTML5, etc.)
