Salesforce Industries Cloud is looking for a Lead/Principle Software engineer to join our team in Melbourne. You will be working with a group of world-class engineers, architects and product managers to build the breakthrough features salesforce.com ’s industry customers will love, adopt and use while keeping the application stable and scalable. You have a solid understanding of the MVC pattern, an obsession with commenting your code, a natural tendency to self-test your code before calling it done and a knack for building quality user experience. You’ll be a part of a modern, lean, self-governing engineering team where you have the ability to switch hats between coding to features, to testing for quality, performance to writing release management automation.
You must have a solid background in Java programming and an understanding of Javascript, CSS, SOAP XML, and HTML. You will be responsible for developing and through all phases of the front-end to the back-end development lifecycle. You will use your experience to work with team members to develop new application feature set, as well as, enhance existing code and framework. You should have a history of building successful Web-based solutions using Web Services and the ability to grasp a variety of unfamiliar technology and integrate them quickly.
This job requires that you be a self-starter with the ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. You must possess good oral and written documentation skills and be able to interact with other team members to deliver fast and reliable code. You will also be asked to contribute ideas and provide feedback on many projects within the team’s portfolio.
Our team, Industries Order Management, is focusing on delivering world class, high scalable and yet customizable systems to Communication, Energy, Media and Utility customers to process high volume orders and fulfillment. Our systems leverage both Salesforce core platform and Hyperforce infrastructures. As part of the development team, you will get the chance to see how some of the world famous Telco companies fulfill their orders behind the scene and you will be one of the engineers who will be developing one of these systems and components.
Required Skills/Experience:
8+ years of experience in web-based software development
Leads feature development being delivered by multiple engineers.
Independently designs and delivers code for products and features.
Provides oversight through code and design reviews for features delivered by other developers within their scrum team.
Influences architecture, quality, product and process beyond immediate scrum team.
A subject matter expert for a technology or feature area
Develop test plans and test automation for features and/or products
Verifies quality of the code delivered through manual and automated testing. Extends the automation framework where necessary.
Works closely with senior developers, Q3 testing team, PM, and UX to ensure their features are delivered to meet business and quality requirements
Writes code for most areas of product.
Troubleshoot production issues.
Bachelor’s degree – ideally in Computer Science, Engineering or MIS
Desired Skills
Experience developing in an enterprise environment – source code control, continuous deployment, release management
Knowledge and/or experience with Salesforce Lightning platform
Experience working with Agile/Scrum methodology
Experience developing on the Salesforce.com platform & API’s
Certifications in Force.com and/or Java
Experience with Selenium automation
Understanding of various user based security models
Understanding of enterprise apps for Financial Services
Experience with Javascript frameworks such as Jquery and/or ExtJS
Experience with Node.js development
Experience in JAVA is an added plus.
Knowledge of Git, Jenkins, Ant, Maven, or other similar technologies
