The San Luis Valley Local Foods Coalition seeks an Executive Coordinator to support the
Organizational Steward and the Development Director in the management and sustainability of an important non-profit serving the San Luis Valley. The coordinator will support coalition-wide administration and fundraising, all the while embracing equity and other organizational core values.

The mission is accomplished through a range of programs and projects: The Rio Grande Farm Park, a farm incubator and educational farm; the Valley Roots Food Hub, a local foods aggregation and distribution service; Cooking
Matters, a bilingual cooking and nutrition education program; and Local Foods Local Places, an economic development and healthy food access project and strategic planning effort. About the position
The Executive Coordinator will support the management of the organization as it strives to move into a more inclusive leadership model during a time when the founding steward is transitioning to a more advisory position and eventual retirement. The EC will be responsible for administrative support for the Organizational Steward within these main areas: human resources, bookkeeping and budget management, fundraising activities, and project and partner management for the Coalition.

At the discretion of the Organizational Steward, and depending on organizational needs over time, specific responsibilities may include:

• Support the exploration and implementation of shared leadership models, such as the the establishment of “pods” to oversee certain areas of operations noted above

• Assist the Equity and Human Resources Coordinator in reviewing HR policies and practices, to help onboard staff and assist in overseeing their on-going employment, payroll, and benefit needs.

• Support the RGFP, VRFH, CM and LFLP projects as needed.
• Support an equitable funding strategy which deepens the commitment of existing donors, increases the number of supporters overall, and develops opportunities for all to contribute.

• Help to coordinate individual fundraising efforts, including the annual Colorado Gives campaign, together with the Development Director, the Organizational Steward and the

Marketing Director.

• Prepare gratitude communications and track donors, to improve donor stewardship and retention using the DonorPerfect software.

• Support the Development Director, Organizational Steward and program leadership in developing annual budgets and resource development plans.

• Process eligible Colorado Enterprise Zone contributions, reports, and related communication

• Support Organizational Steward and Development Director in ensuring program staff are on track to complete grant deliverables and reporting

• Support Organizational Steward and Development Director to ensure proper and efficient financial tracking of grant and donor funds

• Other duties as they emerge in a dynamic work and community setting.

Desired Qualifications & Experience:

• Knowledge and experience specific to Non-Profit settings
• Knowledge and experience with specific aspects of Human Resources such as supporting employee on-boarding, and payroll and benefits administration
• Experience with or willingness to learn administrative aspects related to foundation and government grants, individual giving, corporate support, fundraising events, and related donor relations support

• Experience with supporting the planning, execution, monitoring, and evaluation of projects, including organizing tasks, meeting deadlines, and communication in a fast-paced and flexible environment

• Database management skills and experience, including the ability to maintain accurate records and prepare timely and meaningful reports

• Experienced in Google Suite and Microsoft Office programs
• Passion for the SLVLFC mission and core values, including diversity, equity and inclusion practices
• Team player/able to work collaboratively and effectively with and among diverse staff, programs, communities, and individuals
• Bilingual English and Spanish a plus, but not required

Benefits/Details:

• 32 hrs/week, with potential for more hours depending on experience, interest, and organizational needs
