Summary

The PLM Product Management team drive product roadmaps turning the long-term strategy and vision into a concrete delivery of business processes and capabilities. The team defines and ranks the product backlog based on market priorities and customer insights.

The Role

In the global economy, our customers must deliver new products more frequently and adapt product changes more quickly, while the complexity of products rises. These companies rely heavily on managing their products across the extended enterprise, it becomes essential to establish a digital thread for product data to ensure access to up-to-date product data and traceability. This digital thread requires a paradigm shift in how to display enterprise data. Our vision in PLM is to create a visual index for product data based on 2D, 3D and 360 panoramas. SAP Enterprise Product Development is enabling our customers to create a visual digital thread for discrete products. To drive this vision, we are looking for Area Product Owner (f/m/d) who wants to join us on our exciting journey to redesign the user experience of Enterprise Cloud PLM applications. In this role you will:

• Collect and understand new functional and non-functional requirements based on inputs from all internal and external stakeholders
• Translate feedback and market requirements into detailed functional requirements
• Own the functional product backlog that serves as the single source of truth for all requirements
• Ensure a defined and ranked product backlog is available for each release and that the backlog for their functional area is clear to the level of granularity needed
• Reflect release themes and big rock items for highest customer and SAP value in backlog planning and balance market demands and SAP interests to determine what functional teams will work on in quarterly planning cycle
• Collaboratively and iteratively work with engineering team / POs to agree on and to refine the backlog
• Support POs, and dev teams to design wireframes, mockups, and workflows that would satisfy prioritized requirements
• Align with leadership, product management colleagues, and development on which requirements can be delivered in each release
• Ensure a healthy balance of short, medium, and long term investments

Role Requirements

• More than 8 years of total work experience
• Detailed knowledge of visualization technologies
• Basic understanding of core PLM processes
• Cross-functional collaboration skills, including ability to work across an organization
• Experience in translating customer requirements into design specifications and solutions
• Academic background in computer science, engineering or equivalent
• Excellent communications skills
