What you’ll do
SAS is seeking a US Federal Financial and Regulatory Senior Account Executive who will provide strategic guidance and lead SAS business development efforts in the federal financial and regulator space. The primary areas of focus include, but are not limited to strategies that address the needs of US Treasury, Housing and Urban Development, and regulatory agencies including: CFPB, CFTC, FDIC, FHFA, Federal Reserve Board, NCUA, OCC, and SEC.

This position would work with these executive branch departments and financial regulatory agencies to identify and pursue opportunities where SAS’ portfolio of analytics and big data solutions can drive better outcomes for the government and the citizens and stakeholders it serves. SAS can assist in leveraging data to improve outcomes, operational efficiency, and mission critical capabilities with unparalleled insights. We are considering candidates with financial services industry, Executive Branch or regulatory agency, policy or business development experience in the federal space. This position will be responsible for driving new business, developing strategic account planning, executing on this plan, and working with the broader team to grow SAS software and consulting revenue with the Departments and agencies listed above.
Primary responsibilities will be:
Develop and execute a Strategic Plan for growing SAS’ Federal regulatory agencies footprint based on a comprehensive opportunity analysis which should consider market, policy, and political dynamics, relationships, agency budgets and priorities, compelling business needs, and SAS federal contractual arrangements.
Craft and implement, as part of the Strategic Plan, specific Administration strategies to further SAS business initiatives and strategic expansion opportunities. This sales strategy will address what focus areas to prioritize as well as the best approach for each.
Understand relevant Federal policy initiatives, rulemaking, budget and other legislation representing opportunities or risks for SAS’ strategic success.
Identify emerging market or areas of focus for this territory, as well as competitor advances in the market, and strategic partnership opportunities for SAS.
Work to identify, prospect, qualify and drive sales opportunities into under-penetrated, developing, and mature agencies.
Determine which customer business areas and SAS solution areas are of highest value to pursue and then execute sales plans and strategies to build new business opportunities and close revenue.
Prepare proposal information as needed.
What we’re looking for
Bachelors’ Degree, preferably in Financials/Banking, Public Policy, Public Administration, Business, Engineering, Computer Science, MIS, or related discipline.
At least 8 years of sales or relevant experience
The successful candidate would be one who has expert skills and high-level experience in the federal financial regulatory space.
Experience with federal procurement processes and s federal government sales cycles
Ability to analyze and evaluate account dynamics, develop a sales plan, and accurately forecast sales.
Effective and polished communicator capable of engaging audiences of varying levels, including C-level customers.
Strong leadership skills and experience with strategic sales techniques and team selling skills.
Ability to grasp the analytics space.
Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
Work location: Arlington, V.A., Washington, D.C. or proximate surrounding area(s), or ability to travel to D.C. as frequently as necessary.

Masters, Graduate or Doctorate degrees are considered a plus.
Financial services industry, Executive Branch or regulatory agency, policy or business development experience in the federal space.
Ability to relate current industry issues and initiatives to SAS offerings.
Complex consultative selling skills and executive-level presence.
Public speaking experience.
