Marketing and Technical Writer
Responsibilities/Functions:

Proposal Writing

• Gather proposal information by identifying sources of information, coordinating submissions and interviewing SMEs for specific content
• Follow proposal-writing standards including readability, consistency, tone, compliance, winning themes
• Responsible for content editing and QC including quality checks and edits content for compliance, grammar, logic, and readability; Polishes content to incorporate missing strategy elements and win themes; Organizes and facilitates effective proposal reviews including managing distribution of draft materials, leading review meetings, and coordinating the draft recovery process with authors.
• Maintain a proposal support database, including resumes, project information, past proposals, company information, client references, including appropriate archiving and storage.
• Improve proposal-writing results by evaluating and re-designing processes, approach, coordination, boilerplate templates and writing content
• Collaborate with the graphic designer to augment writing with visuals
• Plans and oversees final QC, assembly and delivery of the printed and electronic submittals by established deadlines

General Writing

• Assist in writing for press releases, journal articles, company newsletter employee website, social media posts, website content and other writing needs

Social Media and Web Site Maintenance

• Manage and constantly update the content of the company website to support the company branding strategy and business development initiatives
• Create social media posts and monitor effectiveness
• Create and Monitor SEO

General

• Ensure marketing materials are consistent with the organization’s brand and strategic direction
• Own the marketing calendar of important deadlines
• Daily administrative tasks to ensure the functionality of the marketing department s activities

Essential skills and experience:

• A Bachelor s Degree in a related field (marketing, journalism, communications, and business) and a minimum of 5-10 years of related writing and web/social media experience, preferably in the AEC industry (Architecture/Engineering/Construction).
• Excellent communications skills (both verbal and written)
• Excellent AP style writing, editing and proofreading skills
• Advanced abilities in Microsoft Office (especially Word) and Adobe Creative Suite (especially InDesign and Acrobat Pro)
• Proficiency in virtual collaboration tools including SharePoint, FTP sites, video conferencing and other marketing-related applications
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple concurrent assignments with minimal direction to deliver materials that communicate clearly defined messages, quality, and branding, while meeting production and delivery deadlines
• Work schedule flexibility to meet short deadlines
• High energy level and strong attention to detail with an emphasis on quality
• High level understanding of construction and/or engineering industry – an upside
• Strong writing, proofreading and editing capability and experience with technical writing in an Engineering environment – an upside
• Ability to travel when needed
