The Role

We are looking for an experienced Mid Frontend Software Engineer to join the Enterprise Digital Services (EDS) team. The EDS team develops, supports and operates the SBS websites and mobile applications.

• Join a progressive organisation in a product team of Frontend Engineers, designers and UX experts.
• Contribute as a highly autonomous Mid Frontend Software Engineer with good coding skills in JavaScript, Typescript, HTML and CSS with a strong focus on React.JS development using the Next.js framework.
• Developing new user-facing features
• Building testable, reusable code and libraries for future use across all SBS digital platforms
• Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders to achieve the best outcomes

The role is open for remote working from across all of Australia. You need to have Australian working rights to be considered.

About you

You’re an individual who takes accountability seriously and is delivery focused. You show great initiative and passion about your work and you are confident of your software development skills. You have a collaborative mindset but also don’t mind working autonomously. You’d need to come equipped with:

• Demonstrated knowledge of core web principles including HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript (ES6+)
• Demonstrated knowledge of modern web frameworks and libraries specifically React.Js, Typescript and Node.js
• Demonstrated understanding of Frontend build tools/pipelines including Yarn/NPM, Webpack & Node.js

Bonus skills (not mandatory):

• Experience working with Next.js Framework
• Basic understanding of CI/CD engineering practices, DevOps processes and tools such as Docker, Git, Jira, Bitbucket
