Your responsibilities
As a Software Engineer, your role will be to develop, assist and support the digitalisation of aftermarkets products for Schenck Process.
As a newly created role, the Software Engineer will support the Digital Aftermarkets team with software development, data optimisation and process improvement
Specifically, you will:
- Identify, design and implement process improvements, optimising data delivery and re-designing infrastructure.
- Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture following all security requirements within customers and internally.
- Compile and implement software development projects based on a functional specification on time and on budget.
- Develop analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiency and other key business performance metrics.
- Lead the rollout and launch of new digital products into the market, including the development of user manuals, backend logic documentation, software functional diagrams, API documentation and system architecture
Support the creation of technical content of sales literature for new products in co-operation with Marketing; review the completeness, correctness, and explanatory power of the completed documents prior to release
Your qualifications
To be successful in the above duties, you have:
- Knowledge of Python or other languages, algorithms, databases and SQL
- Ability to develop professional technical documentation, reports, testing documentation and presentations
- Good communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Project delivery experience, including scrum framework
- Good understanding of commercialisation and selling ideas and products both internally and externally
- Experience in digital and software product development and proficient in the development of software (preferably Python, Matlab, C, C++, React and/or equivalent) and the software engineering process
