Schneider Electric Hiring for Software Engineer Job at Brisbane, Australia Full Time

Schneider Electric’s Transformer Digital Services is a new team acquired by Schneider, part of our Energy & Sustainability Services. Our team delivers an innovative transformer condition monitoring IOT product with a matching cloud-based data presentation, analysis and insight service. We have an exciting opportunity for a DevOps/Software Engineer to join a team that encourages technical input at all levels.

Based in Queensland, you will have significant involvement in migrating our existing infrastructure from AWS across to Azure, participate in the development of back-end software development in python or javascript including supporting the introduction of data mining and artificial intelligence processing enhancements, and generally assist to ensure the cloud infrastructure is performant, cost-effective and scalable during an anticipated period of high product line growth.

Key operational responsibilities:

• design, implementation and monitoring of the cloud infrastructure that supports the Transformer Digital IOT web application
• monitor and respond to performance issues or downtime
• support the product team on feature design, development and testing environments and releases
• identify and implement improvements to processes
• maintain the cloud infrastructure with supported from project’s lead engineer
• build and test API functionality, data pipeline functionality and integrations with internal Schneider systems
• identify and mitigate potential security and scaling issues in the future

About you:

You are a self-motivated, confident and passionate professional who wants to work for a value-based organisation. You are an effective learner who enjoys challenges and knows when to ask for support!

In addition, you possess the following relevant skills:

• bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Software development, computer science, DevOps
• specific certifications for AWS or Azure are desirable
• clear and developed understanding of designing, implementing and maintaining/scaling cloud architecture
• demonstrated experience in building performant and scalable APIs for web apps or IOT devices
• strong verbal and written communication in technical information
