The Role
Reporting to the Plant Manager, the main responsibility of this role is to ensure a high standard of Safety across the divisions, overall operations, and products, to safeguard our employees, assets and customers. This role will implement and ensure compliance with company policies, specifically pertaining to safety, like ISO 45001, IMS/ISO 9001, HACCP, Workcover and other relevant legislative and accreditation requirements. Vital to this will be to carry out continuous improvement activities, and providing direction, support, and training to employees at all levels.
As the Lead of a small 2-man team, this role will maintain the SAIRS Safety database for incident reporting while carrying out risk assessments and conducting safety observations. You will ensure monthly management reporting of safety performance and prepare safety talks for shop floor, field staff and office staff. Another key area of focus for this roll will be leading all internal safety audits while supporting the Coordinator with the implementation of internal and external training.
The Person
The ideal candidate will have a relevant qualification alongside 5 years’ experience in a similar role. You will have a proven ability to communicate effectively with people on all levels and be comfortable to influence and challenge when needed. Previous knowledge of SAP and the Microsoft suite including Teams would be beneficial.
