We’re looking for someone who:• Is equally adept at taking direction and taking initiative to solve programming challenges • Finds that using online tools to research problems comes naturally • Excels at conveying complex information in simple, accessible ways • Finds that attitude is as important as technical skill • Loves it when an assignment goes right, but is resilient and stays upbeat when it doesn’t • Listens well, asks incisive questions, and digs into details while keeping the big picture in focus • Above all, thrives on collaboration and takes greatest satisfaction in helping others meet their goals • We offer a flexible working arrangement to include both in office and remote working environments.Description of Duties & Responsibilities: • Work under direction, supervision and guidance to analyze data and convert it into useful information. • Work with large sets of raw data to identify trends and patterns, visualize the data for storytelling and provide insights on what actionable strategies the data supports. • Develop and generate dynamic operational reports, visual management and objective feedback mechanisms based on data and key performance indicators (KPIs). • Confer with management to understand, build and implement requirements and specifications into data driven solutions. • Create and generate specialized metrics, visual management and reports as directed to measure department and Company quality, timeliness, compliance, and progress towards goals and objectives. • Collect, organize, and analyze Company and department data. Interpret data and trends and provide forecasts to management. Research and evaluate alternative solutions to meeting business needs in accordance with strategic initiatives as directed. Provide and present data driven recommendations for improvements and enhancements. • Use Microsoft Power BI Pro as the primary tool for report creation and visualization so data models, sets, and connections are all under SML’s data management policies and authority management. • Works with Database Administrator to design and request tables, views, queries and stored procedures. • Review data for accuracy and ensure that it is presented in a clear and concise manner. • Other duties and responsibilities as needed or assigned by management.Required skills & experience: • Advanced understanding of the Microsoft Windows Office Suite • Intermediate use and knowledge of SQL • Analytical and Critical thinking • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and proficiency in written and spoken English • Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly • Excellent attention to detail • Insurance knowledge is helpful but not required • Must be dependable and able to adhere to a work scheduleWork Environment: We provide a unique opportunity to learn and explore new technologies in web, mobile, and client/server frameworks in a collaborative team environment.
