This position is for a 12–16-month student Analog IC design internship at Semtech Canada with the Signal Integrity Products Group (SIP) in our Ottawa Design Centre.

Responsibilities:

As the Analog Intern, you will be involved with the design, development, verification and characterization of analog and mixed-signal circuits for use in our data communications products. The position includes work on circuits such as phase-locked loops, equalizers, optical and cable receivers and drivers plus other key circuit building blocks. State-of-the-art BiCMOS and CMOS technologies are used for these circuits. You will use of advance CAD tools for the design, layout, simulation, and verification of the analog blocks plus scripting work for IC design and validation automation using Python, Skill, TCL, etc.

Semtech has a dynamic team environment and senior designers who will provide mentoring and guidance throughout the internship term.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Good understanding of analog electronic circuit fundamentals
• Ability to learn quickly and work independently or in a team environment
• Exposure to transistor level circuit design/analysis would be an asset
• Exposure to CAD circuit design tools (e.g. Cadence Virtuoso) would be an asset
• Experience with Matlab and/or scripting languages such as Python would be an asset
• Desired start date May 2022, 12-16 month term
