We are currently looking for experienced Teaching Assistants for a special needs school in Birmingham. The school teaches children with physical needs, severe learning difficulties, multiple learning difficulties, visual and hearing impairment. Some children will have complex medical conditions and sensory level autism.

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you must:

• Be patient as the special needs will vary
• Previous experience working with children who have SEND
• Have a calm and caring nature
• Understand supporting SEND children
• Have team teach training
• Be prepared to do personal care

The school is located within proximity to Sheldon, Stechford, Bordesley Green, Ward End, and Hodge Hill.

About this role:

• Supporting Reception – KS2 children with SEND and learning difficulties
• You will be supporting the class teacher and making sure that the needs of all the children are met
• Working 1:1 or in small groups to deliver lessons to suit the children’s needs

About you:

• Have a minimum of 6 months experience working in a school setting
• You must be patient and have a good understanding of the service and complex needs of the pupils
• You are committed to safeguarding and being aware of the important of following the safeguarding policies and procedures
• Be caring and understanding
