Sentara is hiring a Remote Patient Monitoring Technician, Full Time (.9)
The Remote Patient Monitoring Technician will primarily function as remote monitoring for patients requiring continuous observation. The Technician’s responsibility is to observe and report high risk behaviors that may interrupt medically necessary therapies as well as patient safety and/or perceived changes in the patient’s condition to appropriate health care team members.
Responsible for documenting the observed behaviors and need for redirection. The Technician will function under the direction of the Program Manager and/or Team Coordinator. Focused on promoting positive patient experience by partnering with the patient’s family, and other care providers to provide an excellent patient experience. Will perform under stressful conditions with compassion, respect to ensure patient privacy and dignity as appropriate.
Competencies/Job Duties:
1 year experience healthcare environment preferred.
Ability to hear, verbally redirect and see alarms and digital read outs. Strong customer service skills.
Ability to function in stressful and emergency situations.
